How to Drape Saree for College and School Farewell or Fresher Party
1. Draping style for farewell party in college and school
The steps are as follows:
- Start draping one side of the saree from right to left and tuck into the petticoat or skirt.
- Complete one full wrap around the waist, and makes pleats in the center of the waist.
- Tuck it in the center of the waist, now take the pallu top corner edge of the saree, take it around your waist to the back and come to the front.
- Hold the corner up straight to make uneven pleats of this bias drape. Place the saree corner on your shoulder, leaving around 12 inches (30.48 cm) to hang free behind your shoulder.
- The pallu lower corner should reach below your waist level (See the video above to understand more clearly) And take a bangle or a metallic ring to pass the corner through it to create a holding placement till the shoulder. Twist and pass it one more time. The pin the saree remaining corner behind the blouse at the backside.
2. Draping Style – Pant Style Saree for College and School
If you want to look extremely funky, you can opt for this pant saree style as well. Yes do not forget to wear a bottom (preferably jeans or jeggings) which is in contrast to your saree color and blouse, and match a choli or crop top before you start draping.
Steps for draping a saree in pant style are as below:
- Firstly take a saree in any fabric but the most preferable is the flowy fabric for a voguish look.
- Hold the non-pallu part of the saree and make pleats of half of the saree in a little wider width.
- Pinup the pleats with a safety pin cleanly and neatly.
- After pinning the pleats, tuck them at the front portion of the waist. Make sure pleats open up on the right side and not left (like regular saree draping).
- Wrap the remaining saree around the waist for one complete round till the front pleats and then safety pin it here.
- Finally, take the pallu end and make pleats, pin it with a blouse of the left shoulder.
This will give you a fashionable look in the form of a ravishing pant-style saree at any event.
