Palazzo Sari with Cowl Draping
This style introduces the concept of pairing a sari with palazzo pants instead of the traditional petticoat. This fusion creates a modern, flowing silhouette that is both comfortable and stylish. A satin sari is recommended for its smooth texture and elegant fall, although any flowy saree can work.
To achieve this look:
- Begin by Wearing Palazzo Pants: The flare of the palazzo adds volume and movement, enhancing the overall look.
- Tuck the Sari into the Waistband: Start pleating the sari halfway and tuck it into the center of the waistband, slightly towards the left.
- Drape the Sari Around the Body: Bring the edge of the sari from the back and stop at the right side, pinning it at the center.
- Pleat the Pallu: Make pleats with the pallu (the loose end of the sari) and drape it over the left shoulder. Ensure the pleats are straight and secure them at the waistline.
- Arrange the Pleats Neatly: Pin the pleats at the lower waist to create a structured yet fluid look.
Lehenga Drape with Wrap around
This style transforms the sari into a lehenga, perfect for party wear. An organza tissue fabric saree, or a silk saree, they both can give different looks. The video above has the drape done with organza saree as they are more into trend for younger women.
To achieve this look:
- Start with the Blouse and Petticoat: Wear a normal blouse and petticoat to provide the foundation for the drape.
- Create Small Pleats: Begin pleating the sari in small sections and drape it around the waistline.
- Drape in a Circular Manner: Continue pleating from the back to the front, stopping on the right side.
- Create a Loose Cowl: Form rough pleats with the top border and drape them loosely across the front, creating a cowl-like effect.
- Drape the Pallu Over the Shoulder: Pin the pleats on the left shoulder and drape the remaining fabric over the elbow, creating a second cowl on the opposite shoulder.
- Secure the Pleats: Use pins to keep the pleats in place, ensuring they do not move.
Jacket Sari drape
Drape style incorporates a long jacket with the sari, adding a chic, layered look. A Flowy sari in a light, flowing fabric is recommended for this style. And same you may need a flowy long jacket like in the video. Or these days short embroidered jackets also work best.
