Delhi witnesses the 5-days of fashion gala at The FDCI Indian Couture Week 2016 from 20 July 2016 lined up with 1o accomplished Fashion Designers at the Taj Palace, New Delhi, counting top Indian designers like Manish Malhotra and Tarun Tahiliani and Rohit Bal and other designers like Reynu Taandon, Rimple And Harpreet Narula, Anamika Khanna, Varun Bahl, Gaurav Gupta, and Rahul Mishra showcased their collection at the event.

1st Day of Indian Couture Week in Delhi
MANISH MALHOTRA
Manish Malhotra label completed 11 years with an outstanding collection of “The Persian Story” this season.
He updated his collection not only with the styling concept but also come back with Indian handicrafts.
Bollywood and fashion always go hand in hand, 34 – years old Pakistani actor Fawad Khan who debuted on the Indian runway with a Golden embroidered pocket on dark warm sherwani paired with maroon pyjama, and Bollywood queen Deepika Padukone walked as a show stopper with a glamorous red off-shoulder blouse and embroidered lehenga on the runway.
The collection is inspired by the luxury Mughal era architecture with heavily embellished lehengas, long jackets, Sherwanis with heavy motifs with the color palette on cream, gold, red, brown, indigo, yellow, and royal blue.
2nd Day of Indian Couture Week
ANITA DONGRE
Anita Dongre first time showcased her collection with this event as she is known for her mesmerized Jaipuri touch with traditional embroidered and colors shown in her ethnic collection with lehenga along with gotta patti and prints, the color palette cream, red, brown, pink infused with gold, Bhumika walked on the ramp.
TARUN TAHILIANI
Like Anita, Tarun’s collection appeared for the first time with this platform with the dramatic theme Lat Dance Of the Courtesan” with pastel colors like peach, nude, pink and cream with embroidery with volume skirt, embroidered blouse, saris concept, as the theme show started with Sufi Kathak Dancer performance and the second day closed with the royal classy.
3rd Day of Indian Couture Week
REYNU TAANDON
Rajasthan craft, colors, and fabric with bridal lehenga and Anarkali dresses showcase on the third day of the gala by Reynu, her collection show stopper was Bollywood actor, director Divya Khosla.
RIMPLE & HARPEET NARULA
Rimple and Harpreet come along with the inspiration of the writer Kahil Gibran’s words, which they tried to convert into their collection titled “Hirayat“ with motifs and traditional embroideries that are displayed from day to night color and motif. 27 years old Bollywood cute actress Yami Gautam show-stopped for Rimple and Harpreet with heavy midnight blue bridal lehenga.
RAHUL MISHRA
As Rahul Mishra’s collection “Moonsoon Diaries” was inspired by the art forms of natural glory with mixed detailing from the old hand artwork and highlighted vintage peacock on his mood board with the best collection for the modern bride.
ANAMIKA KHANNA
The well-known couturier Kolkata-based Anamika showcased her collection on the 3rd day of the event, as her upcoming collection hint, she updated her Facebook page with quotes of William Wordsworth’s poem, The solitary reaper she updated her collection with 3D petals and different shape silhouettes her favorite fashionista Sonam Kapoor came along with her creation in the event.

4th Day of Indian Couture Week
VARUN BAHL
As Bahl is known for his floral love his collection was released with pastel colors and floral look in the 4 days in couture, for soon to be young bride Varun launch vintage collection with a floral look with soft color tone and highlighted with Indian traditional clothes in silk fabric and other types like Katan silk, Matka silk, raw silk sarees, dresses, and lehenga with applique work and embroidery.
GAURAV GUPTA
On the second last day of Indian couture week Gaurav Gupta showcases his collection with his trademark and as always expected silhouettes with dramatic cocktail looks and sarees modern draped gowns, multi-layered pattern cut lehenga with cherry, lavender and vintage blue, actress Saiyami Kher who is soon to be launched in Film Mirzya walked as a show stopper for in a gown.
MANAV GANGWANI
On the last day of the event, Manav smacks with his collection ” Begum-e-Jannat” with royal colors and royal zardozi with gold work in Kaftans and sarees and addition look for sherwani too, actress Kangana Ranaut walked for Manav in his creation of mirror work maroon choli with a heavily embroidered lehenga with mesh dupatta.
ROHIT BAL
One of the top Indian designers Rohit Bal is known for his lavish collection launched his Russian inspiration silhouettes with gold, black detailing with a touch of floral embroidery with rich cut and craft jackets and high neck Anarkalis, the event ends with the perfect display at the last day.
